When Zain Used Appliances Trading approached UPSELLX, the Dubai-based used appliances buying business had no structured organic search presence to speak of. Despite Zain's 12+ years of hands-on experience buying and reselling home appliances across the UAE, the business's website was invisible for the exact searches its future customers were typing into Google, terms like used AC buyers in Dubai, sell used refrigerator Dubai, and similar high-intent, ready-to-sell queries across every appliance category the business serves.
UPSELLX was brought in to build the site's organic foundation from the ground up. That meant more than writing new pages. It meant restructuring how the entire site communicated with Google, with AI-powered answer engines, and with the people actually searching for a fast, trustworthy way to sell an old appliance.
The first phase focused on content architecture. UPSELLX developed a hub-and-spoke internal linking strategy connecting the site's main appliance-buying pillar page to dedicated subcategory pages for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, dishwashers, microwaves, coffee machines, cookers, and televisions. Each subcategory page was written to answer the specific questions a seller in that category would have, then linked back to the pillar page and sideways to related categories, giving Google a clear signal of topical depth rather than a handful of disconnected pages competing for the same broad terms.
Alongside the content work, UPSELLX corrected NAP (name, address, phone) inconsistencies that had built up across the site and its Google Business Profile, a foundational fix that matters more than it sounds like it should, since even small mismatches in business name formatting or contact details can quietly suppress local ranking signals. The site's meta data, schema markup, and structured FAQ content were rebuilt to align with the appliances-buying industry and with the business's transition to its updated brand identity, Zain Used Appliances Trading.
A key part of the strategy addressed something most local SEO providers still ignore entirely: visibility inside AI-generated answers. UPSELLX implemented an llms.txt file to improve how AI crawlers access and interpret the site, and structured content across every category page using declarative, answer-ready sentence patterns designed for how tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google's AI Overviews actually extract and cite information. This is the difference between traditional SEO and true AEO/GEO strategy, and it shows directly in the results.
Comparing the most recent three-month period against the three months before it, the site's organic clicks grew from 354 to 905, an increase of 155.6%. Impressions rose from 11.1K to 25.5K, up 129.7%. Average click-through rate improved from 3.2% to 3.6%, and the average ranking position climbed from 11.4 to 9.8, moving the site's pages from the bottom of Google's first page into the middle of it.
Visibility inside Google's AI Overviews grew to 2.11K total impressions over the same window, with daily AI Overview impressions rising sharply from late June onward and reaching peaks of 50 to 75 per day by early August, direct evidence that the GEO and AEO content strategy is working exactly as intended.
The technical side of the work paid off too. On mobile Core Web Vitals, the site reached 21 good URLs with zero poor or needs-improvement URLs, following a round of accessibility and page speed fixes implemented alongside the content rebuild.
For a business built on being the appliance buyer Dubai residents can trust, showing up in the exact moment someone searches for a fast, fair way to sell their old AC or refrigerator is the entire game. Every point of ranking improvement and every additional impression in an AI-generated answer is a potential seller who finds Zain's team instead of a competitor, or instead of giving up and dumping a working appliance for nothing.
